Baby Shower Ideas

Baby shower season is in full swing in the summer here in Chicago. Here are our top 5 favorite ideas for hosting a shower!

1. Backyard BBQ. For those who aren't keen on traditional showers, a backyard BBQ is the perfect casual event. Check out the looks of the subtle summer party from A Lo and Behold Life! Great for a co-ed event for all family members. (via A Lo and Behold Life)

2. Bohemian Chic. We have serious style envy after seeing this chic soiree. Hire a henna tattoo artist to decorate your gals while you and your guests sip on green tea and mojitos. Check out the gorgeous photos below from Style Me Pretty and see for yourself! (via Style Me Pretty, Carolina Guznik)

3. Build Your Library. Is the little one going to be a bibliophile even before arriving? Have a baby lit-themed bash and have each guest bring their favorite childhood book with a message inside in lieu of other gifts. (via Hostess with the Mostess)

4. Ice Cream Social. Who doesn't love ice cream? We know mommies-to-be love it more than almost anyone. Guests can build their own sundae at the ice cream bar while they socialize. This gorgeous pastel party was created for a child's birthday, but the colors and theme work great for a shower as well! (via Style Me Pretty, Cream & Coal)

5. Art Parties. Of course this list would be incomplete without mentioning art parties at One Strange Bird! Your guests can decorate onesies in a variety of fabric patterns and shapes using a decal technique while they sip on mimosas.

Do you have any favorite ideas you didn't see here? Let us know in the comments!
