Decorate your home with your very own painted figurines this Halloween! We're here to show you how. Come join us for our fall anniversary event on October 11 from 10am - 1pm and decorate it in house with us! For those at home, here's what to do:
1. Grab skulls and pumpkins! We used paper mache skulls that we gessoed white, and ceramic pumpkins. You can order these online or find them in store at craft retailers in your area (Michael's, Amazon, etc.).
2. Paint your base layer using acrylic paint. We decided that one would have polka dots with a glitter stem, the middle would have a mandala design, and the last would be ombre striped.
3. Add your decoration. For the glitter stem, use mod podge (craft glue) to coat the stem, and then cover with glitter. For the mandala design, use any repetitive floral or curvy design that focuses on a center point. For the ombre, mix the stripe color with orange or white and paint with a flat brush.
4. For the skulls, we used traditional sugar skull designs typical of Dia de los Muertos decorations - flowers, swirls, hearts, dots, etc. Have fun with it!
